Nightclub Birthday Celebration Turns Violent in Port Harcourt
A birthday celebration for Thonia Okoye, Juliet Obasi, and Jennifer Nnochiri at Blackbox Nightclub in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, ended in violence.
The women said they were allegedly assaulted by Mr. Maduba Okechi Christian, CEO of Ceemore Group, his associates, and a MOPOL officer after rejecting his advances and attempting to record the incident with their phones.

According to eyewitnesses and the victims’ accounts in widely circulated social media videos, the women were beaten, stripped, and had valuables stolen. One victim was seen with a bleeding head, another missing a front tooth, and a third reported being pushed down stairs and stripped naked by the assailants, including security guards.
The Rivers State Police Command is investigating the incident. In a statement on X, the command noted that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has invited the nightclub manager and the alleged suspect for questioning and urged the victims to come forward with their statements.
Calls for justice have intensified online as disturbing videos of the victims’ injuries continue to circulate, prompting widespread outrage.
