Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reportedly been honoured with a chieftaincy title by the traditional leadership of Odiokwu Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to an announcement circulating on social media, the honour recognises his alleged contribution to the development of education in the Igbo-Odù Kingdom.
The announcement stated that the Eze Igbo-Odù Council, led by His Royal Majesty, Eze Nnandi Okuzo, Architect J.P., DSSRS, Eze Igbodu, had officially welcomed the activist into the council.

It added that the recognition makes VeryDarkMan a member of the Igbo-Odù Council, with the rights and privileges associated with his position as a titled chief.
The reported honour comes amid recent attention surrounding VeryDarkMan’s involvement in a school and healthcare development project in Odiokwu, funded by Nigerian music star Burna Boy. The project, which includes a secondary school and a clinic, has drawn attention to efforts to improve access to education and healthcare in the community.

VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken commentary on social issues, public accountability, and governance, has built a significant following through his social media activism.
However, details surrounding the formal conferment ceremony, the specific title bestowed on him, and the date of the event have not been independently confirmed in available reports.
The development, if confirmed, would mark another traditional recognition for the activist, who was also reported to have received a chieftaincy title from the Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State in July 2026.
