As Nigerians commemorate another Democracy Day, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency NOA Rivers chapter, Dr. Edward Banigo, has urged the citizens to support all government efforts geared toward deepening democracy and revamping the economy.

Dr. Banigo, who commended President Bola Tinubu for the modest achievements recorded in the past two years, said his administration has done well in stabilizing naira and initiating the students’ loan scheme, to allow everyone to acquire a University education.

He said “If you go to the forex market today what you will get is the true strength of the naira, before now in attempt to give the naira artificial value government wasted a lot of resources, today those resources are channeled into productive ventures, the government has democratized higher education through the establishment of educational loan”.

Dr. Banigo further said that reforms in the energy sector have shut out dubious and sharp practices in the sector, and made more funds available to the government at all levels to execute meaningful projects for the benefit of the people.

According to the NOA State Director, reforms in the energy sector has also provided alternative to the use of fuel, while improved security has reduced the activities of bandits in the north and curtailed attacks on oil facilities in the Niger Delta region.

Dr. Banigo also noted that some foreign airlines that had, before now, halted operations in the country, have returned due to the deliberate effort of President Tinubu’s administration in setting outstanding debts owed to the foreign airlines.
