A police officer, identified as Prince Egbe, said to be from Ula-Upata community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been allegedly shot dead.
Though, the Rivers State Police command is yet to respond to enquiry on the incident by our correspondent, but as at press time, the suspect was alleged to be military personnel at Abua road junction in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers state. The incident which was said to have caused panic happened on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
According to reports, the officers who came from one of the Police units in Port Harcourt had arrested two suspected drug dealers during a raid at a location known as Ama-ahausa in Ahoada.

The report revealed that the police officers who drove mini-bus were stopped by the military men at Abua junction in Ahoada East LGA. The Police officers identified themselves and informed the Military personnel that the arrested suspects were being conveyed to their base.
It was purported that the military operatives allegedly ordered the Police officers to release the suspects, the alleged refusal by the police led to altercation and the military personnel allegedly shot at the officers which resulted to the death of Prince Egbe, while the other Police officers supposedly ran for safety.
Meanwhile, the military personnel were said to have fled the scene before the arrival of Police re-enforcement team from Ahoada Police Division in Ahoada town who took the deceased officer to an undisclosed mortuary.
