TCN Restores 132kV Owerri-Ahoada Transmission Line After Vandalism-Induced Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk power supply through its 132kV Owerri-Ahoada Transmission Line following successful reconstruction efforts.

A release signed by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, stated that the line was reconnected to the national grid on April 11, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m.

The restoration comes a month after vandals caused the collapse of four transmission towers—towers 71 to 74—on March 11, 2025, leading to power outages in Bayelsa State and parts of Rivers State.

With the transmission line back in service, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) has resumed power supply to the affected areas.

TCN reaffirmed its commitment to delivering reliable electricity nationwide and urged communities to actively support the fight against vandalism of critical infrastructure.
