Delta: PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori beats Omo-Agege, wins Governorship election

Sheriff Oborevwori, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has been declared winner of Saturday’s Gubernatorial election.

The result was announced by the INEC State Returning Officer Prof Georgewill Owunari, Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, at INEC Collation Center in Asaba, the State capital.

Oborevwori polled 360,234 votes to defeat his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 240,229, while the Labour Party candidate, Kennedy Pela came a distant third with 48,047.

He won 21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas of the state including Aniocha South, Patani, Sapele, lka South, Ndokwa East, Aniocha North, Ika North-East, Bomadi, Ethiope East, Oshimili North, Warri South and Okpe.
