Eleme Council boss asks Buhari to repair dilapidated East-West Road

The Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Obarilomate Ollor has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prioritize the reconstruction Eleme Axis of the east west road.

Ollor noted that Eleme LGA deserves better from the federation.

Ollor stated this during this year’s Independence day celebration in Eleme LGA which held at Ogale primary school field, Ogale.

Over 40 schools, paramilitary organizations, the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria and other volunteer groups who participated in the march past.

According to him: “I am happy that we are recognizing and hosting the 62nd independence anniversary of our great nation Nigeria, I want to let you know that there is hope for Nigeria and our country must be great. Here in Eleme LGA, we now have good leadership, we have moved from where we used to be and at this independence anniversary, I want to thank all the people of Eleme for cooperating and supporting the peace we are having today in Eleme LGA”.

He urged the people of Eleme to be hopeful and expect lots of remarkable changes in the land as according to him, a better Eleme has been birthed.

“We are enjoying peace which is supposed to be our right but was taken away from us in the years back, today we have peace that we deserve as a people though more work must be done to ensure we sustain this level of peace that we have today.

“We are happy for our children who are enjoying the support and magnanimity of the Executive Governor of Rivers state, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS Africa in education, we believe that the incoming administration will improve on this.

“There is hope for Rivers state, there is hope for Eleme LGA, there is hope for all our communities so we should all remain peaceful, we should all remain calm, we should all remain hopeful as a better Rivers state, a better Eleme has been birthed, today is a day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.

“Nobody from Eleme will continue to cry over what belongs to us. In a few months from now, work will commence in full at the Eleme East West road, our power supply improved over a certain period but has been poor for the past few days now, I have spoken to the PHED management and I can tell you that from now on we will experience a very much improved power supply all over the place.

“We are also doing everything possible to ensure that by the next independence anniversary, we will be celebrating it in the new secretariat complex, in Ogale, the headquarters of Eleme LGA. So, I can say that Eleme has moved forward.

“I want to thank all the Security Agencies and the people of Eleme for all you are doing to keep Eleme peaceful while I also call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari to place special attention on the people of Eleme for what Eleme has given to this country which no other community has done, so the Federal Government headed by our President should look into the issues concerning Eleme LGA and commence work on the Eleme Axis of the East-West road.

“We want to thank our Governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for making all of us in Rivers state proud, come 2023 general election, we will ensure our great party, the People’s Democratic Party here in Rivers state do so well in Eleme LGA, thank you as I assure you that you will witness more developments as we move on from now to the next independence anniversary, God bless the people of Eleme LGA” Ollor concluded.
