Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has dismissed Gehgeh, several influencers and musicians following criticism of his decision to import and sell power-related products.
VDM made the remarks in a video response to Gehgeh’s comments about his business venture, as well as criticism from other social media personalities.
He accused some influencers of using their platforms primarily to promote betting, cryptocurrency, iTunes and gift card businesses rather than speaking out about issues affecting Nigerians.
According to him, some content creators travel abroad, return with expensive cars and receive praise from their followers without using their influence to demand solutions to the country’s challenges.
Defending his business decision, VDM said he travelled to China, where he discovered products he believed could make life easier for Nigerians. He subsequently decided to import them for sale in the country.
He also challenged his critics to show instances in which they had supported his calls for the government to address Nigeria’s problems.
The activist maintained that some of those criticising him were better at making comments than taking practical steps to bring about change.
“All this bunch of clowns talking, I no rate una,” he said.
He further dismissed comparisons with musicians, declaring: “All of them, both the musicians, I’m not their mates.”
