The Technical Adviser of Rivers United of Port Harcourt Stanley Eguma has hailed his team performance against Dakkada fc during the resumption of Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.

The Port Harcourt based side defeated the Uyo based club two-nil at the Adokiye Amaesimaka Stadium during the matchday 20 of NPFL.

Stanley Eguma while speaking to newsmen said the victory gave his team the needed confidence they need in the second stanza of the league.

The gaffer said that his side would have scored more goals in the encounter should they have converted all the chances created during the tie.

He stated that the team's focus is how to get more away victories in the remaining matches of the league starting with Rangers FC this weekend.

Stanley Eguma said the only way Rivers United can secure a continental ticket is to get maximum points on the road.

The manager also tasked his team to give more for the side for them to achieve their target at the end of the season.

”My players they put up a good fight today. Dakkada fc is also a good side they fought very well during the game but I think we’re better. If we had converted all our chances we would have scored more than two goals. In fact, today was a payback time, we lost to Dakkada four two in Uyo, and today we beat them two-nil”.

“I think it’s a good thing starting the second stanza of the league on a winning note. The victory will boost the confidence of the players. And we need to work very hard to win our next away game” he said.

In his post-match reaction, the Coach of Dakkada FC Umar Danladi attributed his the team’s zero-two loss to bad weather.

Umar Danladi said the heavy downpour together with the waterlogged pitch made it impossible for his players to express themselves during the game.
