The Bonny Local Government Council in Rivers State is set to distribute empowerment cheques to women selected under its N200 million Women Empowerment Scheme.
The cheque presentation, approved by the Council Chairman, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Government Lodge in Bonny, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
According to a statement issued by the Council’s Chief Press Secretary, Amb. Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo, each beneficiary will receive N500,000 to strengthen and expand their businesses, improve their capacity and create more sustainable sources of income.
