Just In: Gunmen hijack bus filled with students in Rivers, demand N2 million ransom

A commercial bus filled with students of Kenule Beeson Saro Wiwa Polytechnic has been hijacked by suspected kidnappers.

The students were reportedly travelling from the school in Bori, Khana Local Government of Rivers State to Port Harcourt on Monday when the bus was hijacked around 6 pm.

It was gathered the kidnappers have contacted families of the students, demanding N2 million ransom.

A family member whose twin sister was among the abducted said the kidnappers sent him a naked picture of his sister as proof that she was in their custody.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police Command did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment.
