Peterside’s removal as NIMASA DG sparks debate on social media

The news of the approval of Bashir Jamoh as the new director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has torn social media apart as Rivers Youths disagreed over the legacies of the outgoing DG, Dakuku Peterside.

Dakuku Peterside, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State was appointed in 2016 to head the maritime agency and his tenure ends on March 10, 2020. He will be replaced by Jamoh.

Some youths claim Peterside abandoned Rivers indigenes during his stay at NIMASA. Others argued otherwise.
