Man kills wife for demanding sex in Port Harcourt

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital has remanded a 46-year-old man in prison custody for killing his wife during an argument.

Theportcitynews gathered that the victim, Ijeoma Nwokolo was allegedly murdered by the husband, Ifeanyi Nwokolo during an argument over sex.

According to court documents, the couple who lived in the Rumuigbo area of Port Harcourt fought over the wife’s demand that the man make love to her before leaving the house.

The suspect was said to have been uncooperative as he claimed he has to attend a church vigil service and could not perform the act.

An argument ensured and the husband pushed the deceased away and she fell and hit her head on the concrete wall in their bathroom.

The court document said that when the deceased fell, the husband felt she was feigning injuries. He then carried her and laid her on the bed before leaving for the vigil.

It was gathered that he later met the deceased the way he left her and he quickly raised an alarm. He also reported the matter to the police station.

The Magistrate could not read the charge due to lack of jurisdiction. However, Chief Magistrate Andrew Jaja ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter till June 13,
