The Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has provided technology gadgets to its Claims Management Officers to enhance efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness in claims management.
The Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, presented the devices to the officers at the agency’s office in Port Harcourt on Monday, September 14, 2026.
While presenting the gadgets, Agala charged the officers to use them judiciously and responsibly to improve their operations and strengthen transparency in the management of health insurance claims
She emphasised the need for the officers to leverage the devices to enhance service delivery, promote accountability and ensure effective processing and management of claims for the benefit of RIVCHPP enrollees.

Appreciating the Executive Secretary for the initiative, the Head of Standards and Quality Assurance at RIVCHPP, Pharm.
Bona Vopnu, assured that the officers would make proper and responsible use of the gadgets.Vopnu said the provision of the devices would make claims management less cumbersome, improve efficiency and reduce errors in the course of the officers’ duties.
RIVCHPP said the initiative was part of its continued efforts to strengthen its operations and improve healthcare service delivery to residents of Rivers State.
The agency, which is mandated to facilitate access to affordable and quality healthcare for Rivers residents, said it has continued to embrace digitalisation, including the operation of a 24-hour call centre to promptly respond to the needs and concerns of its enrollees.
