PDP chieftain, 2 others killed as gunmen shoot mourners in Abua/Odual

No less than three persons were killed and many injured as gunmen shot mourners in Abua/Odual.

The incident which happened at Adada community in Abua/Odual on Monday also claimed a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area.

Etieno Useni, the PDP’s vice chairman in ward 9 died at the spot.

Eyewitnesses told theportcitynews that gunmen numbering about four, shot at the crowd as they sat during a burial ceremony.

The shooting came barely 12 hours after gunmen killed a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Onne, Eleme Local Government.

However, it is not immediately clear if the Monday’s shooting had any political connection.

The Rivers State Police Command has not reacted to the shooting.
