Updated : 7-storey Swiss Hotel building collapses at Woji Road, many trapped under(Pictures)

Swizz Hotel Building has Collapsed at Woji Road.

The 7-storey building collapsed on Friday evening while construction workers were still working on the building.

Rivers State Governor government in a statement issued by the commission for information, Emma Okah said:

I confirm that a multiple story building under construction at Woji Road, GRA 2 (opposite De Planet Lounge), Port Harcourt has collapsed. Cause of collapse is still speculative but RSG has since activated all emergency services to rescue those trapped in the debris. As at now, about 11 persons have been rescued alive while efforts are intensified to rescue the rest. Will keep you updated on developments.

The number of persons trapped under could not be verified at the moment although eyewitnesses say over 30 persons have been trapped.

The fate of the workers trapped under are unknown but rescuers are trying to see what they can salvage.
