The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has postponed the Matchday 12 fixture between Sporting Lagos and Rivers United indefinitely.
The encounter, which was scheduled to take place as part of the 2026/27 NPFL season, will no longer go ahead on its original date.
The league confirmed the postponement in an update, adding that a new date for the fixture would be communicated in due course.
However, the NPFL did not disclose an official reason for the decision, leaving both clubs and their supporters awaiting further clarification.
The postponement means Sporting Lagos and Rivers United will have to adjust their preparations while waiting for confirmation of the rearranged date.
Both sides will be seeking to collect valuable points when the fixture eventually takes place, with Rivers United aiming to strengthen their position in the league standings and Sporting Lagos also targeting a positive result.
The NPFL is expected to announce further details about the rescheduled encounter.
