Rivers State University has begun enforcing its “No ID Card, No Entry” policy for staff, students, and visitors as part of efforts to strengthen campus security. Enforcement started on Monday, October 19, 2026, with committee members stationed at the university’s entry points to ensure compliance.
Dr Theresa Belema Chris-Biriowu, a committee member representing the Directorate of Student Affairs, said the policy is meant to ensure that everyone on campus is properly identified.

Staff and students who forget their ID cards can get visitor tags. However, while using the tags, staff will not be allowed to carry out their official duties, and students will not be allowed to take part in academic activities.
The university said the policy is aimed at improving the security of lives and property on campus.
