Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has undergone successful surgery following an injury sustained while representing Nigeria in the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Ajibade suffered the injury during the second leg of Nigeria’s second-round qualifying fixture against Comoros on Tuesday.
The forward confirmed that the procedure was successful in a post on her Instagram page, where she also thanked fans for their support, love and prayers.
“Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” she wrote.
The 26-year-old is expected to spend time on the sidelines as she begins her recovery, although her return date remains unclear.
Ajibade’s absence will be closely monitored by both her club, Paris Saint-Germain Féminine, and the Super Falcons as Nigeria prepare for the next stage of their Olympic qualifying campaign.
The Nigerian captain remains an important figure for the national team, and her recovery will be a key consideration ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
