The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, has approved the construction of Omuse Road in Elele-Alimini, including concrete drainage systems on both sides of the road, as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the community.
Lloyd disclosed this during a stakeholders’ meeting with traditional rulers and community leaders of Elele-Alimini at the palace of the community’s paramount ruler on Wednesday.
He said the council’s Works Department had commenced preliminary assessments of the road project, which is expected to be officially flagged off in November as part of activities marking the first anniversary of his second-term administration.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the actualisation of its Greater Emolga Agenda, emphasising the importance of sustained infrastructure development across communities in the local government area.
He also approved the completion of the Elele-Alimini Primary Healthcare Centre, a project initiated by the local government council, and directed that the facility be named after his predecessor and illustrious son of the community, Chief Tom Aliezi, under whose administration the project was conceived and commenced.
On security infrastructure, Lloyd disclosed that his administration secured approval for the establishment of the Elele-Alimini Divisional Police Headquarters during his first term, adding that the construction of the headquarters building was currently under consideration by the council.
The chairman further highlighted some of his administration’s interventions in Elele-Alimini, including the installation of a solar power system at the community’s primary healthcare centre, the provision of electricity transformers to some areas and remedial works on deteriorated sections of community roads.
He pledged to provide additional transformers to other areas experiencing inadequate electricity supply, assuring residents of his administration’s determination to address the community’s infrastructure needs.

On politics, Lloyd urged the people of Elele-Alimini to support the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, by mobilising behind candidates endorsed by the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He maintained that aligning with the FCT Minister’s political leadership would help attract greater government presence and development projects to the community.
The council chairman also expressed appreciation to the people of Elele-Alimini for their contribution to his administration through their son, Barr. Peter Ugari, who serves as his Chief of Staff, describing him as a reliable and dependable ally.
He commended the councillor representing Ward 9, Elele-Alimini, in the Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Sylvanus Ekweme, for his loyalty and support, particularly during challenging periods.
Lloyd also praised supporters of the FCT Minister across the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Elele-Alimini for their consistency and loyalty, especially during the recent political crisis in Rivers State.
He said the proposed Omuse Road construction and other infrastructure initiatives reflected his administration’s commitment to community development and appreciation of Elele-Alimini’s continued support for Wike’s political leadership.
Earlier, the Paramount Ruler of Elele-Alimini, Eze Peter Wagbara, CP (Rtd.), expressed appreciation to the council chairman for approving key infrastructure projects for the community.
The traditional ruler assured Lloyd of the community’s support and commitment to the success of his administration, noting that Elele-Alimini and Akpabu, the chairman’s community, shared a longstanding relationship rooted in unity and mutual understanding.
Describing the bond between the two communities as that of members of the same family, Eze Wagbara reaffirmed Elele-Alimini’s continued support for the chairman.
He also offered royal blessings, praying for God’s continued protection, elevation, and success in Lloyd’s political career and public service.
