A newly surfaced leak claiming to reveal the design and specifications of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra has sparked skepticism among tech enthusiasts, with a well-known industry tipster suggesting the information is unlikely to be accurate.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is not expected to launch until the first quarter of 2027, making current reports highly speculative.
The leaked render, shared on X by the account @TheGalox_, suggests the smartphone will feature a 6.9-inch display with Samsung’s Privacy Display technology, a feature introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to the leak, the device could also include a 16-megapixel front camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a flagship Snapdragon processor, a 5,700mAh silicon-carbon battery, and options of 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
If accurate, the reported battery capacity would mark a significant upgrade over Samsung’s 5,000mAh battery, which has remained unchanged across the Galaxy S Ultra lineup since the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
However, other reports have suggested the company may instead opt for a battery capacity between 5,200mAh and 5,500mAh.
The biggest point of contention surrounds the phone’s rear camera setup.
The leaked render depicts four rear cameras, including two dedicated telephoto lenses. However, several previous reports have indicated that Samsung is likely to remove the secondary telephoto camera from the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Adding to the skepticism, respected Samsung tipster Ice Universe stated that the upcoming flagship is expected to feature only three rear cameras, including a single 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
The conflicting reports have led many industry observers to question the authenticity of the leaked render.
With the Galaxy S27 Ultra still months away from an official unveiling, analysts believe more credible details about the device’s design and specifications are likely to emerge closer to its expected launch in 2027.
