Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) has paid all outstanding scholarship grants and women empowerment benefits to beneficiaries in its Niger Delta host communities.
The company disclosed this during a stakeholders’ engagement forum at the Golden Tulip Hotel over the weekend in Yenagoa.
The meeting reviewed PINL’s community development initiatives and efforts to maintain peace along oil and gas infrastructure.
Dr Akpos Mezeh, General Manager of Community and Stakeholders Relations, said the company met every commitment made at the May 13, 2026 stakeholders’ meeting.
“All beneficiaries have been paid as promised. Our women empowerment programme continues to make positive impact while all outstanding scholarship grants have been cleared,” Mezeh stated.
He noted that these interventions form part of PINL’s broader strategy to promote sustainable development, reduce poverty, and create economic opportunities for residents in its operational areas. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation, saying the scholarships eased financial burdens on parents and helped students pursue their education.
Mezeh announced plans for a structured youth training and capacity-building programme to boost employability and entrepreneurship.
The company also established monitoring mechanisms to offer continued mentorship and support to beneficiaries after receiving grants or equipment.
“Empowerment should not end with grants or equipment. It must lead to sustainable livelihoods and long-term community development,” he said.
Stakeholders commended PINL for its consistent delivery on promises.
They observed that the programmes help reduce social tensions, promote peace, and discourage crime in communities hosting critical oil and gas assets.
PINL reaffirmed its dedication to education, women and youth empowerment, environmental responsibility, and shared prosperity across its host communities.
