Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday received members of the Senator Magnus Abe-led Reconciliation Committee of the Rainbow Coalition at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Abe, Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), led the delegation in a closed-door meeting with the governor. Details of the discussions were not disclosed.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to consolidate the reconciliation between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following the prolonged political crisis that divided the state.

Fubara recently reaffirmed his alignment with the Rainbow Coalition and endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, while also backing Kingsley Chinda as his preferred candidate for the 2027 Rivers governorship election.
The governor had declared that the political crisis in Rivers State was over and urged his supporters to embrace the coalition.
The reconciliation process followed months of political tension between Fubara and Wike, which led to disputes over the control of the state’s political structures and institutions.
The latest engagement is expected to strengthen political consensus within the state and sustain the fragile peace following the resolution of the dispute.
