The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been drawn in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers where they will be playing against countries like Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau to get a place in the tournament.

‎The draw was done at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday, and William Troost-Ekong, the former captain of the Super Eagles was one of the people who helped with the draw.

‎According to the report, there are 48 teams playing in the qualifiers and the draw made 12 groups and 24 teams will go to the finals. Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will host the tournament from June 19 to July 17 2027.

‎Nigeria was picked from Pot 1, where they have a pretty good chance of getting to the tournament. Since Tanzania has automatically qualified for being a co-host only the team that comes first in the group will go to the finals.

‎The winners of the 2025 edition, Senegal will play against Mozambique, Sudan and Ethiopia in Group J. Morocco, who hosted the 2025 AFCON will play against Gabon, Niger and Lesotho.

‎The qualifying games will be played over three windows, the first two games are from September 21 to October 6 2026, then the next two games are from November 9 to 17 2026.

‎The last two games will be from March 22 to 30 2027, and that is when the line-up for the tournament is expected to be completed.
