Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has activated a USSD channel that allows customers to check their eligibility for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) grant.
Customers can verify their status by dialling 557327# from the phone number linked to their Moniepoint account and following the prompts.
The bank said customers confirmed as beneficiaries would be guided through the acceptance process, after which the ₦50,000 grant would be credited directly to their Moniepoint accounts at no cost.
Moniepoint said the USSD code and its mobile application are the only official channels for checking eligibility, warning customers against using third parties.
The NERSI programme, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is designed to provide cash relief to vulnerable households facing economic hardship.

Moniepoint is among the government-approved payment providers for the programme, alongside ALAT by Wema, MoMo PSB, NairaGram and OPay.
The bank explained that checking eligibility does not guarantee selection, as beneficiaries are chosen in batches based on federal criteria, including records in the National Social Register and verified National Identification Number (NIN) details.
Customers who receive a “NOT SELECTED” response have been advised to remain patient as disbursements continue and further batches may be released. However, the bank said there is no guarantee that everyone not selected will eventually receive the grant.
Both the bank and the Federal Government warned against fraudsters seeking to exploit the programme, stressing that eligibility checks and payments are free.
Customers were also advised not to disclose their PINs, one-time passwords, or Bank Verification Numbers, or pay anyone claiming to facilitate access to the grant.
The Federal Government’s NERSI helpline is 0700-022-2222, while Moniepoint customers can contact the bank through its official customer support channels.
