The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that results for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16, will be released before midnight today.
JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the development in a statement posted on Friday, April 17.
He assured candidates that the results would be made public once the board completes its routine checks.
“This is to inform all candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16th April, that their results will be released today before midnight,” Benjamin said.
He added that an official announcement will be issued to the public and posted on JAMB’s verified communication channels as soon as the results are available.
The release marks the first batch of results from the ongoing UTME exercise, which is expected to run across several days nationwide.

The examination is a prerequisite for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, and typically involves millions of candidates each year.
Benjamin urged candidates to remain patient and avoid relying on unofficial sources, stressing that JAMB will provide authentic updates directly.
“An official announcement will be made to the public and posted on this page as soon as the results are available,” he reiterated.
With the release, candidates can begin checking their scores through JAMB’s official portal and SMS platforms, paving the way for the next stage of the admission process.
