The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course, confirming that activities will begin nationwide on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement signed by Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations, the scheme explained that the 21‑day exercise will open with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on April 22, while the formal swearing‑in is scheduled for Friday, April 24. The orientation will conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The NYSC stressed that the orientation remains a cornerstone of the service year, combining paramilitary drills, leadership training, cultural integration, and community development initiatives to instill discipline and national unity.
Alongside these activities, the management urged corps members to prioritise safety while travelling to camps. It cautioned against night journeys, advising participants to break their trips once it is 6:00 p.m and lodge at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police outpost, or palace of a traditional ruler before continuing the next morning.

The scheme also noted that prospective corps members should prepare all necessary documents and personal information in advance to ensure a smooth registration process.
NYSC further added that supplementary online registration for candidates whose details were recently uploaded to its portal ran from April 9 to April 11, 2026, ensuring that all eligible graduates are captured for the service year.
With the timetable now confirmed, the NYSC has called on prospective corps members to prepare for the orientation exercise, which continues to serve as a vital tradition in Nigeria’s drive for unity and national development.
