Saraki pays tribute to Joe Blankson, says he is a Nigerian Hero

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has paid tribute to the Bakana boat mishap hero, Joe Blankson.

Blankson rescued about 13 co-travellers on the ill-fated boat when it ran into troubles at sea on the 28th of July.

Blankson, 38, later drowned in an attempt to rescue more people.

The deceased has received torrents of praises on social media and from politicians.

The Rivers State Government, on Thursday, released a statement praising the dead hero for his gestures.

The Senate President Twitted: “Every now and then we hear amazing stories of Nigerian heroes. Joseph Blankson gave his life to save 13 people. I salute this Nigerian hero who by his last great act, showed us, once again, that we have remarkable people across this nation. His memory will be writ in gold”
