Cultist kill vigilante head in Rumuolumeni

Some armed men suspected to be cultists have killed the leader of a vigilante group identified as Wobo Wagbara in Nkpo village, Rumuolumeni in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the cultists ambushed the chairman of the local security outfit in the community on Wednesday night.

Sources who spoke theportcitynews.com described the killing of the vigilante leader as a reprisal.

The sources said that the incident was not expected as the deceased was taken unawares.

A source disclosed that Wagbara was killed by his assailants at Okemini junction in Kpor shortly after he finished watching a football match at a viewing centre.

The incident, the sources said, forced residents to flee the area

“He was driving home after watching a football match when a group of persons suspected to be cult boys accosted him and shot him in his car,” the source stressed.

The Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, said cultists were responsible for the attack and death of the victim.
