Fubara to Commission 10 Key Projects This Week

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced that he will be commissioning ten projects intended to benefit residents across the state.

The governor, who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Benibo Anabraba, during a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, said the commissioning would begin on Wednesday.

In a statement, Juliana Masi, Head of Information and Public Relations Unit in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said Anabraba reiterated Fubara’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.

He said the commissioning and flag-off events, which would run until 23 December, would cut across Ahoada East and West, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Ikwerre, Emohua, Obio/Akpor, and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas.

Anabraba thanked residents for finding Governor Fubara worthy to serve them, describing the governor as humbled by the trust they had reposed in him.

He added, “I hereby convey the governor’s commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered to all citizens, irrespective of location, while maintaining peace and development in Rivers State at all times.

“As a government that secured its electoral victory on the popular mandate of the good people of Rivers State, we pledged at the inception of this administration to make the welfare of our citizens the primus of our social contract. We have worked assiduously to protect and provide for them through critical infrastructure and other welfare programmes, including maintaining peace and order for socio-economic growth and development.”

Anabraba noted that Fubara’s administration had taken off in earnest with the initiation, execution, and completion of projects despite the disruptions caused by the interregnum in democratic governance.
