Support staff of the Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRCL) have commenced a protest over delays in implementing a new salary structure and other outstanding welfare benefits.
The protest is being led by the Support Staff Union of Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited, SUPSUPHAR, following the non-implementation of a new salary and remuneration package scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026.
In a notice issued to management on October 2, the union said it would embark on a peaceful protest and industrial action over the unresolved issues.
