‎Nasarawa United’s technical adviser, Mbwas Mangut, has acknowledged that his team’s strategy did not succeed against Rivers United during their NPFL Matchday 11 encounter.

‎The Solid Miners experienced a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Pride of Rivers on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

‎In reflecting on the match, Mangut recognized that it was a challenging contest, despite his team’s preparation and increasing confidence.

‎“It’s unfortunate that the game concluded in this manner, given our recent performances aimed at building confidence,” Mangut stated.

‎“We were aware that facing Rivers United at home would not be straightforward, particularly considering their recent results.”

‎He further elaborated that the wet playing surface hindered Nasarawa United’s passing rhythm, enabling the hosts to take advantage of their sole clear opportunity.

‎“We attempted to manage their aggressiveness, but they capitalized on their chance. The turf was quite wet, which disrupted our ball circulation and impacted our style of play,” he added.

Mangut, however, commended his players for their dedication and expressed hope regarding the team’s long-term aspirations.

‎“I commend my boys for their effort and congratulate Rivers United for capitalizing on our defensive error. We are a young, self-motivated team with strong support from the Nasarawa State Government. Our objective is to establish a reputation for ourselves and achieve a respectable finish this season,” he concluded.
