NPFL Coaches Meet Over Forgeries

The executives of the Nigerian Coaches Association are scheduled to convene today to address the increasing incidents of certificate forgery among their members, which constitutes a criminal offense punishable under the law.

‎NPFLsite have exclusively reported on the case involving a coach from one of the newly promoted NPFL clubs who falsified a CAF B coaching certificate, despite lacking even a CAF D certificate.

‎It is important to note that this case was brought to light in the early hours of Monday, October 27th. A prominent Nigerian coach (name withheld) is set to be interrogated by the police for allegedly forging a coaching certificate to manage a club in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

‎The coach was apprehended for creating a fraudulent CAF B coaching certificate to lead one of the promoted clubs in this season’s top league.

‎”This is a criminal offense, and the matter is currently under review by the NFF leadership, the coaches’ association, and the police,” stated a source familiar with the scandal.

‎”The overly ambitious coach brazenly and unlawfully forged the certificate, asserting that he obtained it in 2014, when in reality, no such course was offered in Nigeria at that time.”

‎”He does not even possess a CAF C license.”

‎In light of this report, it is suggested that Nigeria’s top coaches are also expected to discuss the issue of standardization among coaches in the second-tier NNL, where a significant number of unqualified coaches are leading the clubs.

‎The new NNL season is set to commence in the upcoming month.
