Even though Enyimba FC won the trophy at the 7th Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament, their head coach, Stanley Eguma, said the win isn’t the end, and they shouldn’t celebrate yet.
He explained that the main reason they joined the tournament was to check how good their team is, not just to win. “Winning isn’t the main thing here.
This is a chance to look at the team, the players, what we’re good at, and where we need to improve,” Eguma said.
He added that the matches helped them see how well the players deal with pressure, understand the team’s plans, and adjust to his style quickly. He mentioned that the work is only just starting.
”We are still preparing for the season. This is just the beginning. It’s not time to celebrate yet,” he said again. He also said the coaching team will keep working to make the team even better before the season starts.
Eguma thanked Enyimba FC’s management for allowing them to take part and the tournament organizers for creating a good environment to check how ready they are for the season.

”This is a great start. I believe we will do well when the season starts,” Atule said.
He also asked fans to continue supporting the team, saying the players are committed and focused on getting Enyimba back to continental football.
