Bayelsa State Government Mandates Registration of Minibuses in the State

As part of efforts geared towards regulating transportation and improving the security of commuters, the Bayelsa State Government has ordered the registration of commercial mini buses operating in the state.

‎A statement by the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Ayebaeke Preye Brodrick, directed that the commercial Mini Buses, after being registered with the State Ministry of Transport, will be issued identity numbers to be displayed boldly at the front and rear of the buses.

‎According to the statement, the Commercial Mini Buses are also required to be painted with the Bayelsa State colour for lawful commercial operations within the State.

‎The Statement added that operators of the Mini Buses are given up to Thursday, 31st of July, 2025, to comply with the regulatory directives, as defaulters will face heavy sanctions.
