The Energy and Maritime Reporters (EMR) has resolved to strengthen partnerships and initiatives to drive growth in Nigeria’s oil, gas, and blue economy sectors, particularly across the Niger Delta.
The resolution was reached during the association’s congress held on Tuesday, August 18, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking at the meeting, EMR Chairman, Comrade Martins Giadom, said the association would develop stronger proposals to attract sponsors for its Live Roundtable programme and expand the programme across more media platforms in Port Harcourt.
The congress also resolved that EMR would actively participate in the observance of relevant international days and partner with the Rivers State Government to promote the state’s rich but largely untapped blue economy potential.

The association further resolved to pursue more sponsorship opportunities, organise professional training programmes and strengthen collaboration among its 11 chapters across the country.
The Rivers State chapter of EMR reaffirmed its commitment to increasing visibility for the energy and maritime sectors in the Niger Delta, while promoting initiatives capable of contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.
