The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has donated a 750KVA transformer to Okerewa Community in Aleto, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, as part of efforts to support community development.
The transformer was presented by PENGASSAN National Treasurer, David Owan, who led members of the association’s board and other officials to the community.
Owan said the intervention was aimed at addressing Okerewa’s longstanding electricity challenges and improving the living conditions of residents.
He noted that improved power supply would support small and medium-scale businesses, create economic opportunities and promote sustainable livelihoods.
Owan urged residents and community leaders to protect the facility from vandalism and ensure proper maintenance to sustain its benefits.
