Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has addressed questions surrounding his ownership of four private jets, insisting that he did not use church funds to acquire the aircraft.
The cleric spoke while teaching his congregation about financial success, legitimate wealth creation and responsible ways of building prosperity.
Addressing claims that church money was used to purchase his aircraft, Oyedepo said he had never taken money from the church for that purpose.
“I’ve never taken a dime from this church to buy any of my planes, and I have four planes. I use any I like if one is faulty,” he said.
Oyedepo also reflected on his early financial journey, noting that it took him considerable time to afford his first new car, despite gaining access to aviation relatively early.
“It took me time to drive the first new car, but it didn’t take me time to start flying,” he said.
Using the discussion to counsel his congregation, the bishop urged people to pursue legitimate and sustainable means of creating wealth rather than seeking quick financial gains.
He particularly warned against betting and involvement in drug-related activities, describing them as destructive paths that could ultimately lead to financial and personal ruin.
“You don’t have to do drugs or NaijaBet. Wealth gotten by vanity shall diminish,” Oyedepo cautioned.
His comments come amid longstanding public discussions about the source of his wealth and the ownership of multiple private aircraft.
