The Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri, has assured the people of the state that all the major infrastructural works being done in Bayelsa will be completed as expected.
Diri gave this assurance during his visit to some of the ongoing works in Yenagoa, where he expressed his satisfaction with the work pace.
The tour of the various projects was carried out on Thursday, July 9, 2026, where the governor inspected the 9-storey Secretariat Complex, the State Independent Power Plant, Glory Drive Phase 3, and a 30,000-seater Olympic-sized stadium which is currently under construction.
After touring these various infrastructural sites, the governor was quick to note that the works had been making remarkable progress since his previous visit despite all the challenges being experienced.
His words: “I’d say there is so much improvement compared to my last visit. It is a thing of joy that our jobs are not disturbed, no matter the situation we find ourselves in.
“We are very hopeful that all of our projects will be completed.”
He reiterated his administration’s determination to complete the various projects as they were very important for improving governance, economic activities, power generation, and sports in Bayelsa State.
Based on statements by the governor, the infrastructural projects have played a crucial role in his administration’s development strategy and have been planned to spur economic growth and improve the lives of people in Bayelsa.
Inspection of the projects was part of the regular process of monitoring the progress of the projects in relation to the desired standard and timelines.
