In a bid to deal with insecurity issues by collaborating with various stakeholders, the Ikwerre Local Government Area Council in Rivers State has called on corporate organisations and business owners to team up with the government to enhance security throughout the region.
Ikwerre Local Government Area Council in Rivers State has been working towards enhancing security in the area by engaging corporate organizations and business proprietors to work together with the government to improve security in the entire area.
According to the chairman of the council, Mr. Charles Wobodo, the summit was an invitation extended to corporate organizations and business owners in Ikwerre to deliberate on ways to improve security in the area.

The one day security summit was held in Isiokpo, the council headquarters, in a bid to foster unity among all stakeholders working in Ikwerre LGA to come up with solutions that would solve the problem of insecurity.
According to Wobodo, the summit was called for to bring together all stakeholders in Ikwerre who are involved in activities in the area for them to come up with strategies on how they can improve security in the area.
This is because it is very difficult for the council to stand idle when the whole country is grappling with security problems.
In his view, the summit fulfilled its aim because those present were willing to help the government in the fight against crime and criminal activities in the area.
ACP Festus Chimezie Ojiaku, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Isiokpo Area Command, also emphasized the need for collaboration among the security agencies, organizations, and individuals in the field of intelligence sharing. He further requested the provision of logistical and material support to aid efficiency in their operations.
Similarly, the Managing Director of Autocare Services, Pastor Ambrose Nwoko Simon, recommended the establishment of a security communication system which will bring together all organizations in the area for prompt exchange of information.
In the same vein, Bashir Kwalli, the General Manager of BUA Transport Company, congratulated the chairman on organizing the summit, saying security is everybody’s business and that all concerned parties should be committed to achieving this goal.
