Thee Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) began the first phase of its vocational and specialized training programme for young Nigerians in different field locations.
This move shows the Board’s strong focus on youth empowerment and local capacity building in the energy sector.
At the opening ceremony, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), spoke through the Manager of Board’s Intervention Training, Mrs. Chinelo Nnoli.
He explained that the programme equips youths with vocational, entrepreneurial, and modern business skills. These skills help them become more productive, self-reliant, and competitive in the global market.
The Chief Executive Officer of Lakeview Communications Ltd., Mr. Nathan Egbe, praised NCDMB for its continued support of youth development initiatives. He urged the participants to show discipline and full commitment during the training.
Dr. Stephen Ogbuse, the Lead Presenter from Lakeview Communications Ltd., outlined the training modules.
The programme covers Tailoring, Catering, and Food Processing. It also includes important sessions on branding, customer relations, communication, and business development.
This three-week initiative gives participants practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills. It prepares them for sustainable jobs and supports economic growth, especially in Nigeria’s energy communities.
NCDMB continues to invest in human capital development.
The Board links local skills to opportunities in the oil and gas industry and beyond. Officials believe well-trained youths contribute directly to Nigeria’s energy goals and reduce unemployment.
The programme forms part of NCDMB’s wider strategy to grow Nigerian content. It empowers young people to seize opportunities in the evolving energy sector.
Participants expressed excitement and readiness to learn new skills for a brighter future.
