A group known as the Concerned Rivers People, CRP has dismissed alleged political meetings involving former Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Managing Director, Mrs Joy Nunieh, Gabriel Pidomson and Dumo Lulu-Briggs, insisting that such development will not affect the Rainbow Coalition.
The group made the position known in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Sunny Nwagbo.
CRP alleged that Nunieh recently hosted Pidomson and Lulu-Briggs at her residence, where discussions concerning the Rainbow Coalition and related political issues were reportedly held.
The group maintained that despite the alleged meeting, Rainbow Coalition remained firmly established and would not be derailed by what it described as political manoeuvring or behind-the-scenes activities.
According to CRP, the coalition remains committed to its political objectives and would continue to pursue what it described as the interests and aspirations of the people of Rivers State.
“Let it be known, the Rainbow Coalition has come to stay. These meetings and backdoor politics will not stop the will of the people,” the group stated.
CRP also directed a warning at Nunieh, urging her to reflect on her previous political experiences and the support she allegedly received during her time in office.
The group questioned whether Nunieh had forgotten those who stood by her during difficult periods and urged her to consider her past political journey before making decisions that could affect the coalition.
CRP further insisted that alleged private meetings and political realignments would not undermine the coalition, stressing that it remained focused on its stated objectives.
The group maintained that the Rainbow Coalition would continue its activities despite emerging political developments and called on its supporters to remain committed to the movement.
