Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) presented its Train 7 project as a model for Nigerian Content development at the ongoing Nigeria Oil and Gas Midstream and Downstream Summit (NOGMDS) 2026.
The company made the presentation during a panel session at the summit.
Train 7 Project Director, Ali Uwais, delivered the address on behalf of NLNG’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adeleye Falade.
Uwais emphasised that Train 7 stands as a clear example of how strategic partnerships, localisation efforts, and deliberate capacity building deliver world-class energy projects while generating strong national benefits.
He disclosed that the project recorded over 120 million man-hours of work. Nigerian Content participation reached approximately 92 per cent, marking one of the highest levels achieved in such a large-scale LNG development.
The presentation showcased Train 7’s success in engaging local talent, suppliers, and contractors.
It demonstrated practical ways to transfer technology and build skills within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
NLNG used the platform to underline its commitment to local content development.
The company noted that Train 7 creates thousands of direct and indirect jobs while strengthening the technical capabilities of Nigerian firms and professionals.
Industry stakeholders at the summit welcomed the update.
Many viewed Train 7 as proof that mega projects can balance global standards with deep local participation.
The development comes as Nigeria continues to push for greater indigenous involvement across the entire oil and gas value chain.
NLNG’s Train 7 remains a flagship initiative that supports economic growth, skills acquisition, and long-term industrialisation goals.
The project reinforces Nigeria’s position as a key player in global LNG production while ensuring citizens derive maximum value from the nation’s natural resources
