The political tension that has encapsulated Rivers State has taken a new dimension as the Rivers State House of Assembly has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the Chief Judge of the State for alleged falsification of age.

This was the subject of the evaluation session earlier on Thursday at the Assembly following the presentation of some documents to the Speaker by the leader of the House, Hon Major Jack.

Thereafter, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Maol Dumle asserted a wrongdoing by the Chief Judge of the state, Simeon Amadi saying, “These documents before me simply say that the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi falsified his age in service. Mr Speaker, that is a very serious allegation, and I do hope that this House takes legislative notice.”

In his statement, the Speaker of the house, Martin Amaewhule said, “The documents are only suggesting a case of age falsification by the honourable Chief Judge of the state, Simeon Amadi. What it means is that there has to be an investigation to that effect.”

After much deliberation the River Assembly took a formal step in addressing the alleged age falsification allegation leveled against the Chief Judge of the State, Simeon Amadi by writing a letter to DSS to investigate the Chief Judge and return to them with their discovery on the matter after a vote was casted and majority agreed to the process.
