Cricket: Nigeria beat Brazil at Kwibuka Women’s Tournament in Rwanda

Nigeria Women National Team AKA Female Yellow Greens began their outing with a resounding victory against Brazil in her opening fixture at the Kwibuka Women’s Tournament taking place in Kigali, Rwanda.

Nigeria won the toss and elected to field sending Brazil to bat. Brazil scored a total of 53 runs all out in 15.2 overs.

Evelynde Souza scored 12 runs off 22 balls, as the best bating figures for Brazil.

Rukayat Abdulrazaq on her debut for Nigeria stole the show with impressive bowling statistics of 4 wickets, conceding 9 runs in 3.2 overs, supported by Esiegbe Favour with 3 wickets, conceding 12 runs, 1 maiden over in 4 overs.

In the second innings, Nigeria made light work of the run chase by scoring the required total in 10.5 overs, losing just 2 wickets.

Salome Sunday led the run chase with 22 runs of 17 balls not out, supported by Agatha Obulor with 12 runs off 17 balls.

Nigeria finished with 56 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 10.2 overs.

Rukayat Abdulrazaq was named player of the match.

Nigeria won by 8 wickets.
