Victor Osimhen has hit back at critics questioning his recent performances for Galatasaray, insisting that he does not need lessons on how to score goals.
The Nigeria international faced criticism following Galatasaray’s recent matches against Barcelona and Gençlerbirliği. The Turkish champions suffered a 4-1 defeat to Barcelona before recovering with a narrow 1-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği.
Osimhen responded on Wednesday night, scoring as Galatasaray defeated his former club, Lille, 4-2. The 27-year-old striker was subsequently named Man of the Match for his contribution to the victory.
Speaking after the game, Osimhen said he was unfazed by the criticism, stressing that his background had taught him to face challenges without fear.
“I come from a place where I’m not afraid, I don’t fear difficulties. No one can tell me how to sprint, how to play, how to score goals—I already do these things, and that’s why I’m one of the world’s best strikers,” he said.
The striker’s performance against Lille provided a response to questions about his recent form, as he helped Galatasaray secure an important victory.
Osimhen, who previously played for Lille before moving on in his European career, remains a key figure for the Turkish side as they pursue their objectives this season.
