Court fixes date for Aguma’s suit against APC

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has refixed 9th June 2020 for judgment in the suit filed by some Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress APC, Igo Aguma, Dele Moses and nine others, against the party and its National Chairman, Adams Oshomole.

Judgement on the matter was earlier slated to hold today 8th June, but upon arrival to Justice George Omereji’s court, the parties were informed of a new date by the court’s clerk.

Recall that Igo Aguma who represented Port Harcourt constituency 1 in the National Assembly had approached the court, pleading with the court to declare the five-man caretaker Committee constituted by the national leadership of the party illegal, stop the party’s Congresses and also declare him the leader of the party among others.

While Dele Moses and nine others prayed the court to order APC not to sell ward, Local Government and State Congresses nomination forms but should declare them the authentic party members which they claimed were the decision of the supreme court in the matter instituted by one Ibrahim Umar and twenty-two others.

Also, recall that Ibrahim Umar and twenty-three others had some time last year filed a similar suit to Dele Moses and nine others with same prayers before Justice Ulor of Rivers State High Court which the court struck out for lacking in merit.
