The Managing Director of Livelihood Homes Limited popularly known as “The Villa” has pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge out of four-count charge against him at a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.

The defendant took his plea after the Prosecution Counsel, Sokari Egop, consolidated the previous four hundred and ninety-six count charge to four amended charges.

The amended charge now have the name of Livelihood Homes Limited included as 2nd Defendant in the matter, with reasons that the 1st Defendant, Kelly Nwogu, used the said company to defraud people.

The presiding Judge, Justice Hillary Oshomo, adjourned the case to 27th January for the continuation of plea taking and remanded the suspects in prison custody.

Speaking to our reporter Tina Amanda, Chief Kingsley Mbamara, Counsel to Plaintiffs, said the plea taking could not be completed due to time pressure of the Court.

“Before now it was only one person that was charged, that is Kelly Nwogu, but today the company, Livelihood Homes Limited, through which the 1st Defendant duped the complaints was added, while the names of those duped are still there, but consolidated into four charges. Due to time pressure on the court, the court adjourned to enable the remaining charges to be read”
