Rivers APC will bounce back stronger before 2023 – Finebone

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Chapter has expressed optimism of bouncing back stronger before the 2023 general elections despite the crisis rocking the party.

A chieftain of the party, Mr Chris Finebone, told PUNCH on Friday that the party had begun to rebuild internally.

Finebone added that the case in court would get quick attention from the judiciary.

The party was disqualified from participating in the 2019 general elections due to internal struggles between the factions loyal to the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and the immediate past senator representing Rivers South-East in the national assembly, Magnus Abe.

But Fineboned noted that the conduct of the suspended party’s ward, local and state congresses was a way to achieving unity even as he stated that every member would have the opportunity to participate in the exercise.

“We’ll be more united before 2023 than we are now. There will be unity in the party before elections because I understand that even the trial judge over this matter has promised that every of his sitting days, he would listen and handle this matter.

“Wait until Wednesday when the hearing begins; everything points to the fact that the cog would be removed very early. Then the process of rebuilding, which must start any way you look at it with congresses.

“It is obvious that despite whatever anybody wanted, congresses will be the best avenue to get this thing right because if you are talking about democracy, a political party is a democratic institution and so, it must follow democratic norms.

“All these ones we talk about political solutions; it is just a way to cover up our inadequacies; otherwise, there is nothing that is a political solution there. The only political solution is for you to make yourself available for congresses, which is a major democratic exercise.”.
