MOSOP condemns renewed killings in Ogoniland

The Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, MOSOP has condemned the renewed cult-related killings and destruction of properties in parts of Ogoniland.

MOSOP said that the re-emergence of violence when efforts are ongoing and peace was fast returning to Ogoni is unacceptable.

According to a statement by the spokesman of the Bari-aara Kpalap-led faction, Fineface Dunemene, MOSOP also condemned report of setting ablaze of houses of people including chiefs and the immediate past MOSOP President, Chief Legborsi Pyagbara.

“The Bari-aara Kpalap-led MOSOP sympathizes with affected persons, families and call on the security operatives to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to book.

“It is important that our youths remain peaceful and seek legal means of resolving conflicts if aggrieved and not take the laws into their hands, transferring violence and killings from one part of Ogoniland to the other” the statement said.
